Mozilla announced on its website that it will discontinue support for its Firefox Lockwise password management app this year. Starting Dec. 13, the app, which is currently available on iOS and Android, will no longer be available for download or reinstallation. The app’s latest releases will be iOS version 1.8.1 and Android version 4.0.3.
Firefox’s desktop and mobile browsers will still allow users to access their saved passwords and password management, according to the company. It’ll only be the standalone app that won’t be supported any longer.
Lockwise’s popularity never seems to match that of rival password managers such as LastPass and 1Password. These solutions can also assist you in managing all of your login credentials and ensuring the security of your identity and critical data.
